Clydesdale Bank International boasts Guernsey's best new manager

04/10/2011

Vicky Le Poidevin has been named ‘Best New Manager’ at the inaugural Channel Islands Management and Leadership Awards held at The Old Government House Hotel last week (22 September).

Organised by the Guernsey branch of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the awards recognise those who have demonstrated exceptional management and leadership qualities over the past 12 months.

Ms Le Poidevin joined Clydesdale Bank International as a customer services associate in August 2010. During this time she has been promoted twice, to the positions of Senior Associate and now to Customer Services and New Business Manager. Ms Le Poidevin currently manages a team of five and she will take further responsibility for more employees later this year.

James Blower, managing director of Clydesdale Bank International said Ms Le Poidevin was very deserving of the accolade.

"Vicky is an inspirational and highly respected member of the team and we are delighted to see to see her efforts recognised in this way. Clydesdale Bank International has remained strongly committed to our traditional customer service values, and Vicky has been key to much of this success,” he said.

Mr Blower highlighted people management skills and a strong proactive work ethic as some of Ms Le Poidevin’s invaluable attributes.

“Vicky was responsible for instigating new measures for monitoring business which has been significant for Clydesdale Bank International, helping to assess the value of our marketing and events activities,” said Mr Blower.

On the Channel Islands Management and Leadership Awards judging panel was: Susie Andrade, Chairman of the CMI in Guernsey, Julian Winser, president of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, and Ruth Spellman, chief executive officer of the CMI.

Ms Le Poidevin is currently studying towards the ICA International Advanced Certificate in Compliance and Financial Crime.
