Our Business and Values
Our Business
Always thinking about the customer since 1859
Yorkshire Bank was founded in 1859 in Halifax, West Yorkshire by Colonel Edward Akroyd as a philanthropic organisation aimed at providing a means of saving for the working classes.
Though times have changed the customer still remains the focus of all our endeavours. Our philosophy of ‘always thinking’ sums up this dedication perfectly. It recognises that customers expect value from their relationship with us through an ever-widening range of products and services.
Today, Yorkshire Bank is the trading name of Clydesdale Bank PLC and part of National Australia Bank Group's UK operations. Combining global strength with the local service of an established regional bank we offer a range of services for both personal and business customers.
Our Values
The principles that guide us
We believe that the customer is at the very centre of Yorkshire Bank. Always thinking demonstrates that commitment. We’re always thinking about the service and products we provide, about improving, adding value and doing the right thing for our customers, our employees and the environment. Always thinking brings together everything we believe in as a business and the principles we all stand for.
