Access to your savings with 40 days' notice

The account that gives you access to your savings with 40 days' notice, and gives you the potential to earn a higher interest rate than that of an instant access account.

    Once you’ve opened an account, you can add extra savings at any time. You can even set up a regular transfer to make sure you make the most of your extra cash every month.

    Making withdrawals

    Withdrawals require 40 days’ notice. Withdrawals without 40 days’ notice are not permitted under any circumstances except in the event of the death of an account holder (or one of them if a joint account).

  • With the 40-Day Notice Account, interest is calculated daily and added to your account every quarter.

    *Gross rate interest is the interest payable without taking account of any tax payable. We no longer deduct tax from the interest earned on your savings, following the introduction of a Personal Savings Allowance. If you earn interest over your Personal Savings Allowance you will be required to pay any tax due yourself directly to HM Revenue and Customs.     Interest is calculated on a daily basis and is paid on the last business day of each calendar quarter. The rate of interest on this account is tiered. You will earn one rate based on your account balance.

    Can Yorkshire Bank change the interest rate? Yes, if we decrease your rate we will provide at least 2 months’ notice as described in Section 14.2 of the Terms and Conditions. We may increase your rate without giving you notice.

    The examples assume that:

    • no further deposits or withdrawals are made;
    • any interest earned stays in the account; and
    • there is no change to interest rates and tiers.
    How do I open and manage my account?

    The account can be opened in branch, or call us on 0800 678 3380.

    The minimum amount to open and maintain the account is £500. You must be aged 16 or over.

    Can I withdraw money?

    Withdrawals require 40 days’ notice. Withdrawals without 40 days’ notice are not permitted except in the event of the death of an Account holder (or one of them if a joint account).
