Could you afford your Personal Loan if your circumstances changed? Taking our optional Personal Loan Payment Protection Insurance means you’ll be able to continue to make your repayments even if you lose your job, or can’t work due to an accident or sickness. On approval of your Personal Loan, we will contact you by phone to discuss our Payment Protection Insurance.
This Payment Protection Insurance is optional. There are other providers of Payment Protection Insurance and other products designed to protect you against loss of income. For impartial information about insurance, please visit the website at www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk.

What does it cost?
The average* monthly cost for every £100 of monthly benefit for this insurance is £9.62. The cost of insurance is subject to the Term and Value of your Loan.
*Average cost is based on the current premiums paid by Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank customers, based on an average term of 45 months and loan amount of £6,150.71

Access to free, independent and confidential advice on coping with an accident or sickness, unemployment and getting back to work.
To enjoy the security and protection of Payment Protection Insurance, you must meet our eligibility criteria. You are eligible for this insurance if at the start date:
- you are aged 18 years or over and under 64; and
- you work at least 16 hours per week in the UK and have done so continuously for at least the last six months; and
- you live in the UK; and
- you are the first named on the loan agreement
- you have not received any notification from your employer that your own job is at risk
- your company or the company you are employed by, is not currently in or has not announced formally or informally it is going into administration, receivership or liquidation
If your Personal Loan application is approved we will contact you by phone usually within one business day to discuss our Payment Protection Insurance.
Payment Protection Insurance is arranged by Clydesdale Bank PLC, and is underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited and Aviva Life and Pensions UK Ltd. Details are available on request from any Yorkshire Bank branch. Terms and Conditions apply.
