Are loans only for existing Yorkshire Bank customers?
No – if you live in the UK you can apply so long as you meet the eligibility criteria below .
Who can apply?
Personal loan applicants will need to meet these criteria:
How quickly will I get my money?
For existing customers with a personal current account with us, we will credit the funds to your account on the day your loan is drawndown. For existing customers without a personal current account or for new customers, we will credit the funds to your account within 4 working days of your loan account being drawndown.
Your loan will be drawndown when we receive all required documentation and, where customers have chosen to print their own documentation, the activation code has been entered successfully.
How much or little can I borrow?
Yorkshire Bank Personal Loans are available from £1,000 to £25,000 subject to your circumstances.
What can my loan be used for?
People use Personal Loans for a wide range of things – such as buying a new car, booking a dream holiday, financing a wedding, or consolidating existing debts. Personal Loans can’t be used for business purposes, mortgage deposits, or to pay other bills. If you need any more information, please call us on 0800 707 6471 (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm).
Does your website have a Loan illustrator?
Yes – our online Loan Illustrator will give you an indication of what your Loan repayments will be. The cost of the loan will depend on your circumstances.
Does an arrangement fee apply?
No – you don’t pay arrangement fees when obtaining a Yorkshire Bank Personal Loan.
Will my Loan repayments have a fixed interest rate?
The interest rate is fixed when your loan is approved – so your repayment amounts are fixed, and you don’t have to worry about them ever changing.
Is it possible to apply in joint names?
Yes – as long as you have the other applicant’s consent to their information being provided by you.
Can I choose my repayment term?
You can choose a repayment period from a year up to 7 years, depending on what your loan is for and how much you borrow.
How do you approve loan applications?
In order to to assess your application we use our own Credit Scoring System. We also take into account information about your bank account as well as information obtained from a Credit Reference Agency. We then use our scoring system to produce a credit score which we use to establish which applications are accepted.
If I print my own documents which copy do I return?
You only need to return the signed and dated Bank Copy of the agreement. You should return all 3 pages of the Bank Copy and retain the Customer Copy for your own records.
How do I apply for additional borrowing?
You can apply to borrow more within the online application process. You'll need your personal loan number to do this, which you can find on your personal loan statement or by logging into Internet Banking.
On the application form you'll be asked if you want to consolidate any existing Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank personal loans you have with us.
You can take out a new loan and leave your existing loan in place if you prefer, but your total borrowing on personal loans with Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank must not exceed £25,000.
I have an existing loan, why is the APR on my new quote different?
We continually review our prices. The new quote you have received is based on your current individual circumstances and the loan amount you wish to borrow.
