At Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank we aim to be the bank that customers want to deal with, and everyone wants to work for.
In the UK we have over 9.000 employees, more than 300 branches, and a network of over 70 Financial Solutions Centres, servicing 2.6 million customers.
That makes us small enough for your voice to be heard – yet ambitious enough to give your career the room it needs to grow.
Yorkshire Bank has a strong base in the North of England and the Midlands with premises across this geography.
Clydesdale Bank has premises across Scotland and the South of England, making this one of Scotland’s largest banks.
Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank aren’t just successful names in the UK financial services market. We’re also part of one of the world's largest and most successful financial services groups - National Australia Group.
When you’re deciding between employers, it pays to know not just what they do – but what they stand for.
At the heart of our Group is a belief in the potential of our customers and communities as well as each other. This shared belief unites us, and motivates us to:
These beliefs are the test of every decision and action we take. Supporting our beliefs is a common set of Enterprise Behaviours that asks us to always:
Be authentic and respectful. We value the contributions of all our people and treat each other, our customers and the broader community with dignity and respect.
Work together. We actively work together to deliver exceptional outcomes that push the limits of expectations.
Create value through excellence. We are passionate about creating value and exceeding our customers expectations through constantly striving to redefine our standards of excellence.
We’re keen to invest in people who are high performers and who have high potential to take on greater responsibility or complexity.
Through active talent management, we look to identify, develop and retain these people in a simple, robust and consistent way to ensure that we have the right people in the right roles at the right time.
For us corporate responsibility (CR) is about doing the right thing for our customers, for our employees, for the environment and for the communities in which we live and work. Put simply CR is the conscience of the Bank.
Not unsurprisingly there are an infinite number of issues for society to address and as a Bank we want to put our resources in areas where we think we can add value and make a difference. On that basis we have chosen to focus on education, employability and the environment in our work and support of local communities.
We support a number of programmes that operate in schools and in local communities. Our award -winning Count Me In, is a numeracy programme delivered across 19 Local Authorities in England and Scotland. Our employees get involved too - giving presentations in schools, mentoring young people, assisting children with maths or reading and helping clean up charity properties/woodland areas.
Help the Hospices has been our charity partner since February 2008 and we encourage our employees to participate in volunteering and fundraising activities for the charity. The bank matches every pound our people raise for Help the Hospices.
We also have a payroll giving programme, launched in May 2006. And incredibly over 20% of employees take part – that’s more than any other bank on the UK high street.
We became carbon neutral in 2010 – quite an achievement for a global company. However, we still have much to do to further reduce our carbon footprint and that's why we installed Automatic Meter Readers across the larger sites in our property portfolio to help identify ways we can reduce our energy consumption.
In addition we have set ourselves "Beyond Carbon Neutral" targets which cover waste, travel and energy.

Diversity is much more than worthy statements and fine ideas. It’s about making sure we harness a wide range of skills and talents – and making our business stronger as a result.
