Corporate & Structured Finance team is three times a winner in deals awards

Yorkshire Bank is celebrating further awards success after scoring a hat trick at the Yorkshire Insider Dealmakers Awards 2009.

The bank overcame competition from Barclays, Lloyds, HSBC and RBS to win the title of Bank of the Year while Mike Selina, director with Corporate & Structured Finance team, was named Banker of the Year.

Meanwhile the management buy-out of pharmaceuticals business Quantum Specials, which was backed by Yorkshire Bank, was the winner in the Deal of the Year category. Three of the five deals on the shortlist were supported by the bank.

The event took place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

Paul Shephard, divisional director of Clydesdale & Yorkshire Bank Corporate & Structured Finance, said: “These latest awards follow our success the previous week in winning the title of Banking Team of the Year at the North West Dealmakers Awards. It demonstrates the growing recognition of the bank’s achievements in the eyes of the deal making community.”
