Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks strengthen industry sector expertise

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks are reinforcing their business banking service with the appointment of four senior national sector specialists.

Part of the Banks' ongoing investment in providing dedicated specialist advice for small and mid-corporate businesses across Britain, the five appointees will lead fully aligned teams of financial experts, many of whom have direct industry experience. The five new National Sector Specialists are:

  • Franchising – Mike Yates – Mike has over 25 years experience in the banking industry, working closely with the Franchise businesses for the past decade, providing him with extensive knowledge and a network of contacts across the Sector. Mike has been with Clydesdale Bank since April 2007.
  • Healthcare – Derek Breingan – Derek has more than 25 years' banking experience, five years of which have been dedicated to working with healthcare customers and intermediaries with expertise in elderly, dental, pharmacy and primary care. He joined Clydesdale Bank in May this year.
  • Food and drink processing – Chris Archer – Chris has 20 years' experience in corporate finance, private equity and corporate banking. He has worked in Australia, Singapore and the UK, during which time he has led re-financing deals in the food and drink sector. Chris has worked at Yorkshire Bank as a Corporate Finance Director for over three years.
  • Manufacturing – Alan Hamilton - Alan has over a decade of experience in lending to the manufacturing sector and has led and delivered funding packages to companies throughout the UK. He has worked for Clydesdale Bank for the past six years.

Focusing on these key market sectors, each National Sector Specialist has a UK-wide remit and will be supported by regional specialists. They will drive teams with the industry experience and knowledge to add real value in developing the growth plans of businesses in each of these sectors.

Further sector specialist teams and appointments are set to be announced in the coming months.
