Staff Involvement
Encouraging staff participation in the community
As members of the communities they serve, we believe it is important to encourage our employees to participate in charitable work. We also run a Payroll Giving scheme that allows employees to make voluntary donations, monthly, direct from their salary to a range of causes which are important to them. To date 16% of our employees are donating to charities and because of this we have been awarded H M Gold Quality Mark for Payroll Giving. Employees who choose to donate to the Bank’s Charity Partner will have their donation matched £ for £ by the Bank.
Inside and out of work
We actively promote volunteering opportunities amongst our employees, allowing them to volunteer during bank hours as well as their own personal time. Yorkshire Bank Staff support a number of initiatives including;
- Team Challenges through Business in the Community
- Right 2 Read and Number Partners through Business in the Community
- Mentoring for students, businesses and community groups
Credit where it’s due
We also recognise that many of our staff volunteer in their own time to support their local community. Our Employee Volunteer Grant Programme rewards and recognises the personal contribution of employees by providing grants to charitable organisations which they work with in their own time. Grants of up to £500 are awarded quarterly.
