Staff Involvement
Encouraging staff participation in the community
As members of the communities they serve, we believe it is important to encourage our staff to participate in charitable work. We also run a Payroll Giving scheme that allows staff to make voluntary donations, monthly, direct from their salary to a range of causes which are important to them. To date over 14% of our staff are donating to charities and because of this we have been awarded H M Silver Quality Mark for Payroll Giving. Staff who choose to donate to the Bank’s Charity Partner will have their donation matched £ for £ by the Bank.
Inside and out of work
At Yorkshire Bank we actively promote volunteering opportunities amongst our staff, allowing them to volunteer during bank hours as well as their own personal time. Yorkshire Bank Staff support a number of initiatives including;
- Team Challenges through Scottish Business in the Community
- The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland Financial Education Partnership
- Skills and Board Bank with Scottish Arts & Business
- Number Partners and Paired Reading through Scottish Business in the Community
Credit where it’s due
We also recognise that many of our staff give up their free time volunteering to support their local community. This is why we have established the Staff Volunteer Grant Programme which rewards and recognises the personal contribution of staff by providing grants to charitable organisations which they work with in their own time. Grants of up to £500 are awarded quarterly.
