Child Trust Fund Account
It's easy to give your child's savings a flying start...
starting with £250 free!
To encourage saving for our little ones, the government has launched the Child Trust Fund.
This is a new initiative to encourage parents and families to save for their children’s futures. Every child eligible born on or after 1st Sept 2002 will be entitled to a £250 voucher to invest in a Child Trust Fund Account.
Your child will receive an additional £250 at a later date if your family qualifies for full Child Tax credit. What’s more, the government plans to give every child an extra payment at age 7 to boost the investment.
Only the child can access the money and only when they reach 18.
The Child Trust Fund account is a tax efficient investment and returns are currently free from income and capital gains tax, although tax legislation may change in the future.
This is a great opportunity for parents to help build a brighter future for their children and Yorkshire Bank is pleased to introduce Family Investments to you, an approved provider of the Child Trust Fund.
There are different types of Child Trust Fund accounts available, as Family Investments invest the Child Trust Fund account in the Stockmarket, the value of the account can fall as well as rise and your child may not get back the amount invested.
